The Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired veteran outfielder Mike Wilson from Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League for the 2015 season.
Wilson comes to the Fish in exchange for player to be named later.
Wilson, 31, is a former Major Leaguer with the Seattle Mariners. He appeared in eight games for Seattle in 2011, hitting .148 with three RBI.
“He’s going to help provide a lot of protection for the other power hitters in the middle of our lineup. Adding someone of his experience and stature certainly helps the ball club,” said manager Rick Forney.
The Goldeyes now have 23 players signed for the 2015 season, including 11 pitchers players and 12 position players.
