Two teens have been arrested for a bizarre theft that saw a vehicle stolen and 10 dogs set loose in a Winnipeg neighbourhood.
Winnipeg police said an ambulance-style vehicle was stolen from in front of a business in the 2900 block of Pembina Highway on Jan. 19, and in the back were ten canine-detection dogs.
Most of the dogs were found running lose in south Winnipeg, and all the dogs were eventually returned to the owner.
The vehicle was found abandoned on Young Street later that day.
Police said they have arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. They were charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft of Motor Vehicle and Abandon or Neglect Animal or Bird.
Police said more arrests are pending.
