A 14-year-old has been arrested after Winnipeg police say she knocked a woman down and robbed her.
Police said Monday the victim, 22, was waiting for transportation in a building foyer in the 300 block of Portage Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday. Suddenly, a girl pushed her from behind, knocked her to the ground and began pulling her hair.
Another teen grabbed the victim’s purse and fled the scene, while the first teen left the building and started walking down Portage Avenue.
The victim ran after the girl and demanded her purse back, but the girl instead pushed her again and ran away. At this point, police spotted the girl and caught up with her a short distance away.
The 14-year-old faces charges of Robbery and Failure to Comply with a Disposition. She was remanded into custody, say police.
The investigation continues.
