University of Manitoba faculty and students will rally against budget cuts on Wednesday.

Laurie Morris, president of the Association of Employees Supporting Education Services, says 20 positions will be cut before the budget is fully implemented.

“The battle against the University of Manitoba administration’s proposed arbitrary budget cuts will not be an easy one or a short one,” said Tommy Kucera, president of the U of M Faculty Association representing the university’s 1,245 full-time academic staff.

The rally will be held in the U of M’s Engineering Complex atrium beginning at 12:30 p.m.
