A massive fire that destroyed a vacant downtown Winnipeg apartment building was deliberately set, police say.

Investigators are looking for three females and two males between the ages of 14- and 15-years-old seen running from 44 Hargrave Street early Monday evening.

The fire broke out at around 6:45 p.m. and caused an estimated $1 million in damage.

A neighbouring building was evacuated, which also sustained damage.

Anyone with further information that may assist investigators is asked to call (204) 986-6813 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
