Canadian Red Cross - Day of PinkWINNIPEG — The Canadian Red Cross’ Day of Pink saw more than 335 schools and workplaces participate across Manitoba on Wednesday.

The day ensures students and adults think about bullying prevention year-round through wearing the colour pink to spread awareness to the issue.

“Funds raised through Day of Pink supports Beyond the Hurt and our efforts to improve schools, workplaces and our communities by teaching people how to create strong, healthy relationships,” said Rebecca Ulrich, Manitoba education manager for the Canadian Red Cross.

The Beyond the Hurt program teaches young people and adults how to create healthy relationships and treat everyone in a respectful manner.

This year, a film festival was held at the Park Theatre, showing short films submitted by schools about bullying prevention. The nominated videos can be viewed on the Red Cross’ YouTube channel.
