RCMP have laid charges in a fire at the Midtown Motor Inn in Portage la Prairie on February 28.
Flames took over the building just before 7 a.m. and caused extensive damage, particularly to one area of the hotel.
Jeffrey Kirkpatrick, 34, of Portage la Prairie was arrested on March 4 and charged with break and enter, arson, and breach of undertaking.
He was released on a promise to appear in Portage court on Friday.
