Teens Charged in Hargrave Street Apartment Fire

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged five teens in relation to Monday’s massive fire of an apartment building on Hargrave Street.

The blaze in the vacant, four-storey building began at around 6:45 p.m. and quickly spread, causing $1 million in damage.

Witnesses reported seeing teens flee the area at around the time the fire began.

Police have since charged two 13-year-old boys, a 12-year-old girl, 14-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old girl with break and enter to commit arson, arson causing damage to property, arson with disregard for human life, and possession of incendiary material.

All five have been released on promises to appear.
