Human Rights Museum Extends Hours for the Summer

WINNIPEG — A busy summer tourist season is on the horizon for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights at The Forks.

For starters, the museum is extending visitor hours in the evening. All through July and August, and including Labour Day in September, the museum will be open seven days a week instead of closing on Mondays. The museum opens at 10 a.m. every day and closes at 5 p.m. every day except Wednesdays, when visitors are welcome until 9 p.m.

New summer hour take effect May 6. ERA Bistro will also be open on Mondays during the summer and until 9 p.m. on Wednesday evenings when the museum is open. It will close at 5 p.m. every other day.

Free evenings — currently offered on the first Wednesday of each month — will be suspended during July, August and September. The monthly free evening will resume on Wednesday, October 14.
