The Canadian Red Cross is seeking Winnipeg volunteers to lend a hand in dealing with disasters, such as fires and floods.
New volunteers may provide assistance to Manitobans facing a variety of disasters, from house and apartment fires to large scale evacuations due to forest fires and flooding. The Red Cross is looking for people from a variety of walks of life, including those with daytime availability. Training will be provided to accepted volunteers.
Anyone interested can attend the Red Cross office on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at 1111 Portage Avenue (back entrance).
Those who can’t attend can still volunteer by calling (204) 982-7330 or e-mail MB.volunteer@redcross.ca.
