More Canadians are booking travel on their mobile devices than ever before, according to a new report.

The recent Hotel Price Index shows a more than 80 percent growth rating in mobile bookings on Hotels.com within Canada in 2014.

The majority of Canadians booking on mobile devices, more than four-fifths, made reservations at two- or three-star hotels.

Below are some of the top destinations booked by Canadians via mobile devices with an average mobile price paid:

  1. Toronto, ON — $145
  2. Edmonton, AB — $141
  3. Vancouver, BC — $150
  4. Montreal, QC — $157
  5. Calgary, AB — $152
  6. Niagara Falls, ON — $143
  7. Ottawa, ON — $152
  8. Quebec, QC — $142
  9. Winnipeg, MB — $135
  10. Banff, ON — $176

The HPI is a biannual report that looks at hotel prices in cities all around the world. The data is based on bookings made through the Hotels.com website and the prices listed are the actual prices paid by Canadians — not advertised rates.
