Manitoba’s Francophone Musicians Showcased in Ottawa

Manitoba MusicThree Manitoba musicians are up for awards at Gala des prix Trille Or in Ottawa next month.

Singer/songwriter Jocelyne Baribeau is up for western Canadian emerging artist while her children’s act, Madame Diva, is up for western Canadian album, alongside pop songstress and past winner, marijosée. Former Manitoban, Geneviève Toupin, will also be honoured with the award for artists from outside Ontario who have had the greatest impact in Ontario.

Manitoba Music, through its Francophone Music Program, is hosting an industry showcase at the awards show and conference on May 6.

Other Western Canadian nominees up for awards include Paul Cournoyer, Shawn Jobin, Isabelle Longnus, Willows, and Annette Campagne.

The Francophone Music Program was created to strengthen connections with the Francophone music industry and generate opportunities for capacity development as well as exporting to national and international markets.
