Man Sought in Attempted Child Abduction in Powerview

RCMP Crest LogoRCMP in Powerview, Manitoba are looking for a man suspected of trying to abduct a nine-year-old girl.

Police say the girl was riding her bike in front of her home on April 27 just after 7 p.m. when the man stopped his vehicle. He asked if her parents were home and then offered her candies. Were the girl refused, the man told her something bad would happen to her family if she didn’t get in the truck with him.

The girl was able to make it home safely and the suspect drove off.

Police are looking for a Caucasian man in his 30s, with a medium build and approximately 5’8″ tall. He has short brown hair, was clean shaven and appeared to have a scar on the right side of his face. He wore a black long sleeve shirt, round dark-coloured sunglasses and a silver ring on his left ring finger.

He was driving a black truck at the time.
