A Winnipeg man has been arrested following a break and enter spree in the St. Vital area.
Police received a report of three commercial break-ins early Friday in the 100 and 300 blocks of St. Anne’s Road and the 500 block of St. Mary’s Road. One of the incidents on St. Anne’s was witnessed by a passerby, who called police and provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police caught up with the vehicle near Marion Street and Lagimodiere Boulevard and took the driver into custody.
Through their investigation, officers discovered the suspect had also allegedly been responsible for 10 other commercial break-ins over the past two weeks in nearby areas.
Police say in one of the break-ins, more than $14,000 in damages was caused and over $37,000 in merchandise and cash was stolen.
Zachariah Brad Mastervick, 38, has been charged and remains in custody.
