If you hear a knock at the door, expect to see a City of Winnipeg water meter reader.

Beginning Wednesday, May 6 and continuing until the end of August, meter readers will be visiting city homes weekdays between 2:30 p.m. and dusk.

Meter readers will be dressed in dark blue pants or shorts, and a light blue striped shirt with a City of Winnipeg Water and Waste logo over the pocket. All readers wear photo identification and carry a hand-held computer.

Meter readings are taken four times annually to prevent estimated bills and can assist in the early detection of costly plumbing leaks.
