Goldeyes Acquire Pitcher Anthony Smith

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired right-handed pitcher Anthony Smith from the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League in exchange for a player to be named later.

The 25-year-old went 6-2 with a 3.28 ERA in 24 appearances, including six starts, with Schaumburg last season. He also had two saves out of the bullpen.

The Goldeyes now have 27 players on their training camp roster, including 14 pitchers and 13 position players.

Winnipeg hosts the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight at 6 p.m. at Shaw Park in the team’s final home pre-season game of 2015.
