Crossing the Border on May Long? Here’s What You Need to Know

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)As some travellers prepare to head south this May long weekend, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is reminding people to plan ahead.

Victoria Day is a busy day at the Emerson, Manitoba border crossing with high traffic volumes expected. During peak hours, all primary inspection lanes will be open and operating at maximum capacity.

Tips from the CBSA to speed up your travel include crossing the border at a non-peak time, such as in the morning on Sunday or Monday.

Other tips include:

Keep travel documents handy, such as your passport or other identification for all travellers in the vehicle, know your purchases, exceptions and have receipts ready, and know the contents of your vehicle to declare goods.
