Kemnay Man Charged in Shooting Manitoba RCMP Officer

RCMP Crest LogoA Kemnay, Manitoba man has been charged for his alleged involvement in shooting a RCMP officer.

Police were responding to an assault complaint at a home in Kemnay on the evening of May 15 when shots were fired.

Police say the suspect threatened them before he opened fire, striking one of the officers. The male officer has since been released from hospital and is recovering.

Clayton Ewert, 48, faces several charges, including two counts of attempted murder.

He remains in custody and will appear in Brandon court later today.
