Winnipeg’s downtown will be energized this summer with daily activities in the core to make the most of the short season.
The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ is planning all kinds of events and activities, from weekly farmers markets, noon-hour concerts and daily fitness classes in the park.
“We are delighted to once again offer our downtown community a farmers’ market and noon-hour entertainment and fitness activities,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
“Drawing people out of their offices and into downtown parks and green spaces throughout the day makes our streets and sidewalks come alive and attracts business for downtown stores and restaurants nearby.”
The Farmers’ Market will run every Thursday beginning June 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manitoba Hydro Place plaza. The Downtown Concert Series begins June 3 in Air Canada Park and will run from noon to 1 p.m. Fitness in the Park starts up June 1 from noon to 12:45 p.m. in Millennium Library Park and Memorial Park.
