WINNIPEG — Flagpole banners for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 will be put up around the city today.
The first set of banners will be installed along Portage Avenue, starting on Portage and Memorial Boulevard and ending at Main Street near 201 Portage Avenue around noon.
Other locations throughout Winnipeg will see the banners installed by this weekend:
- Chancellor Matheson Road and University Crescent near Investor’s Group Field
- Memorial Boulevard
- Portage Avenue (between Main Street and Memorial Boulevard)
- Main Street (between Portage Avenue and Assiniboine Avenue)
Fans are asked to share photos of the banners on social media using the hashtags #FWWC2015 or #Canada2015.
Winnipeg will host competition group matches on June 8, 12, 15 and 16.
