Winnipeg police are looking for a suspicious man who tried to enter a woman’s apartment saying he was a Calgary firefighter.
The incident happened May 31 in the first 100 block of Young Street.
Police say the 29-year-old woman received a knock at the door of her suite just before 9 a.m. She was confronted by a man who tried to gain entry saying he could smell smoke. The man showed some sort of badge, but the woman immediately closed and locked the door.
The woman wasn’t injured, but was very shaken up.
Police haven’t identified the man, but describe him as being Caucasian with a tanned complexion in his 30s with shaved black hair.
