Commuter ChallengeWINNIPEG — Green commuters who use active transportation to get to work this morning are being rewarded with some sweet treats.

To mark Clean Air Day, anyone walking, inline skating, running or cycling can stop by the northeast corner of Assiniboine Ave and Osborne Street for a free coffee or juice and a Tall Grass cinnamon bun.

As part of the week-long Commuter Challenge, the Green Action Centre will be set up at the corner near the pedestrian/cyclist crossing on Osborne St. to reward active commuters on their way to work.

Individuals who use active and green ways to get to work this week (May 31 to June 6) are eligible to win prizes. In 2014, over 8,000 Manitobans registered to ride the bus, walk, cycle, carpool, telecommute or use some form of green commuting in this annual friendly competition.

The pitstop will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
