More than $120,000 has been raised for the Canadian Red Cross’ Nepal region earthquake fund through customers and employees of Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries.

From May 4-17, donations to the Manitoba chapter of the Red Cross were collected at all Liquor Mart locations and the Casinos of Winnipeg. Customers and employees raised $71,851.64.

Combined with a $50,000 contribution from MLL, the Canadian Red Cross will receive a grand total of $121,851.64 for the people affected by the Nepal 7.9 magnitude earthquake in April.

“This incredible donation will help ensure we can continue to provide aid, including much-needed medical assistance, to the people who were impacted by the devastating Nepal earthquakes,” said Shawn Feely, Manitoba provincial director for the Canadian Red Cross.
