A man seriously assaulted early Thursday morning is now Winnipeg’s latest homicide victim.
Elmer Kakewash, 29, was stabbed in the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue at around 3 a.m. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Police say Kakewash was involved in an altercation with a group of people when he was stabbed in the upper body.
No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate.
