Walkers will lace up on Tuesday, June 9 in support of people affected by dementia.
The Investors Group Memory Walk will be held at The Forks, representing the more than 20,000 Manitobans living with the disease.
“Memory Walk is our largest annual province-wide public fundraiser and last year over $320,000 was raised,” said Wendy Schettler, CEO of the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. “Events like Memory Walk make it possible for us to support people with dementia and their families.”
Last year, more than 4,500 Manitobans were newly diagnosed.
The walk begins at 6 p.m. with registration opening at 5 p.m. Similar walks are taking place across the province. Visit alzheimer.mb.ca for a complete list.
