The Winnipeg Goldeyes on Monday signed left-handed pitcher James Woods for the 2015 season.
The 24-year-old started the season in the Frontier League with the Joliet Slammers. Woods went 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA in 24 games last season with the Southern Illinois Miners and 23 1/3 innings pitched. He averaged 10 strikeouts for every nine innings pitched.
The Goldeyes have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
The Goldeyes begin a six-game road trip tonight at Haymarket Park with the first of three games against the Lincoln Saltdogs.
