WINNIPEG — A new airline has launched at the James Richardson International Airport.
NewLeaf Travel Company Inc. is a low-cost carrier that will also offer customers vacation packages, including hotel accommodations, rental vehicles and entertainment.
Besides servicing the Winnipeg market, NewLeaf will also have its headquarters in the city.
In partnership with Flair Airlines, NewLeaf will offer scheduled daily non-stop flights from the company’s bases in Kelowna, Winnipeg and Hamilton to multiple domestic and international destinations.
“We welcome NewLeaf, their current and future employees, to the airport campus and look forward to working with them in providing services of benefit to the consumers in this market,” said Barry Rempel, president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority.
More than 750 new jobs are expected to be created as a result of NewLeaf’s operations.
