Winnipeg police will not lay charges in a fatal stabbing earlier this month.
Elmer Kakewash, 29, was stabbed in the upper body on June 4 in the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue.
Police say an altercation ensued with a group of people, resulting in Kakewash being stabbed. He later died in hospital from his injuries.
Police identified a suspect on June 10 and arrested a man. However, after consulting senior crown attorney, charges against him will not be laid.
