The city has reached a tentative agreement with Winnipeg Transit drivers and maintenance workers represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), Local 1505.

The deal comes after months of negotiations and delays to riders.

The agreement was reached with the help of a provincially-appointed meditator and still needs to be ratified by both ATU members and Winnipeg’s city council.

Winnipeg Transit carries more than 130,000 riders each weekday and employs approximately 1,100 bus operators and about 250 maintenance staff.
