RCMP in Dauphin are investigating after a suspicious man tried to gain access to a house by pretending to be a Manitoba Hydro employee.
Police say the man, said to be in his 40s, attended a home on King Street the evening of June 10 trying to read the meter. He was denied access to the residence.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man wearing glasses with brown curly hair. He was wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans.
All Manitoba Hydro employees carry photo identification cards and the public can also contact the utility company to verify the person is an employee.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dauphin RCMP at (204) 622-5050 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
