It was nice knowing you, spring — but we think summer is our new favourite.
The new balmy season officially arrives today at 11:38 a.m. CT and is the day bringing the most amount of daylight than any other of the year.
For the first day of summer, revellers gathered at England’s ancient Stonehenge to greet the sun. About 23,000 people gathered to watch the dawn arrive before us here in Manitoba.
Locally, Winnipeg is in store for sunny skies and a high of 25°C today. If a round of golf with dad is on the agenda for Father’s Day, you may want to slap on some sunscreen, as the UV index will be 7 or high.
