A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while walking on Wellington Crescent early Monday.
Winnipeg police say the woman had just left a business in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue and was walking to a friend’s residence.
She was grabbed from behind in a bear hug and knocked to the ground. Police say that’s when she was seriously sexually assaulted.
The victim fled to a nearby apartment and police were called.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, 5’5″-5’7″ tall with a slim build.
