Employees at Stantec are getting comfortable in their new downtown Winnipeg digs with the opening of the Centrepoint building.

Stantec is operating four offices out of the Longboat Development building at 311 Portage Avenue, accommodating more than 300 employees

“This is exciting for both our employees and our city,” said Eric Wiens, Stantec’s regional vice-president for Manitoba. “We’ve been able to contribute to the downtown revitalization through our design work, and now our people will play a part in bringing vibrancy to the downtown community.”

The building is designed to high environmental standards to accommodate the health and wellness of staff, visitors and tenants, as well as provide sustainable solutions for the building itself. Features include interior light wells to maximize daylight, low energy lighting, low consumption plumbing fixtures, energy efficient heat pumps, recycled and low volatile organic compounds materials, and sustainable green building materials.

Centrepoint is a 13-storey mixed-use tower, which is also home to the ALT Hotel, and two new restaurants — the Merchant Kitchen and Brown’s Socialhouse.
