A single-vehicle crash on Highway 60 has claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy near Grand Rapids.
Manitoba RCMP responded to the scene Monday night at around 8:30 p.m., where they found a minivan in the ditch about 10 kilometres west of the Highway 6 junction.
Police say the minivan was travelling westbound at the time when the 30-year-old man driving lost control.
Five passengers were inside, including three females aged four, 25 and 26, and a one-year-old boy. They all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The eight-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor in the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate.
