Winnipeg emergency crews pulled a body from the Red River on Wednesday afternoon near the Kildonan Settlers Bridge.
The body of a deceased man was discovered at around 1 p.m. near Main Street and Ridgecrest Avenue, just north of Chief Peguis Trail.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and a member of the public retrieved the body, in which an autopsy is pending.
The man’s family has been notified and foul play is not suspected.
In another incident, Winnipeg police were investigating on the riverbank in the 100 block of Burrows Avenue on Tuesday after an angler pulled human hair from the river. The hair was seized for further forensic analysis and police are continuing their search of the Red River today.
