Manitoba Man Charged in Crash That Injured Six

RCMP Crest LogoSix people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday on Highway 59.

The crash happened at around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Grove Road in the RM of Ritchot.

RCMP say a pickup truck was travelling westbound when it attempted to cross Highway 59 and collided with a car travelling southbound on the highway.

The 20-year-old RM of Tache man driving was not injured, however, the 35-year-old woman driving the car, along with her five passengers, were taken to hospital in Winnipeg. The group from Niverville included four children between the ages of two and seven, and a 42-year-old man.

All injuries were non-life threatening.

Brendan Gauthier-Gobeil, the driver of the truck, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
