The Winnipeg Folk Festival doesn’t officially start until Thursday, but some pre-festival entertainment will get revellers in the spirit today.
At noon, Birds of Chicago will perform in Air Canada Park (345 Portage Avenue). The free lunch hour concert is in partnership with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
The duo is performing on many stages throughout the festival and are mentoring up-and-coming artists in the festival’s Stingray Young Performers Program.
The Folk Festival runs July 9-12 at Birds Hill Provincial Park. Tickets are on sale at gate prices.
