TORONTO — It appears Winnipeg’s the Weakerthans are no more.

Drummer Jason Tait tweeted Tuesday that word was getting out that the band was “done.”

The band hasn’t released a new album since 2007’s “Reunion Tour,” their fourth studio record.

That album opened up at No. 22 on the Canadian chart and cracked the Billboard’s Top 200 in the U.S.

Known for singer John K. Samson’s melodic, melancholy songwriting, the Weakerthans reeled in three Juno Awards and a Polaris Music Prize short list honour.
