Winnipeg’s largest animal shelter is full to the brim with fuzzy felines.

The Winnipeg Humane Society is once again waiving its adoption fees for cats more than six months old on Friday.

Kittens six months and younger will be $50.

Every year, the shelter sees thousands of cats brought in, and this year, more than 2,700 cats have been brought in so far.

“Cats start reproducing when it’s warm outside, and we start seeing more and more cats and kittens come to the shelter,” said Judy Dean, adoptions manager at The WHS. “We’re happy to do whatever we can to help these cats find loving homes.”

The normal adoption fee for cats is $79 and kittens are between $129 and $179. While the adoption fees will be waived for older cats, the same process will stay in place to adopt them.

The waived fees will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
