Repairs are ongoing on a section of skywalk in downtown Winnipeg.
The City of Winnipeg says some repairs have been completed and the next step is temporary shoring up of the skywalk section between the Delta Winnipeg Hotel and the RBC Winnipeg Convention Centre.
Once the temporary shoring is done, permanent repairs will happen.
To accommodate the shoring work, the following lane closure will be in place, said the city:
A section of the west curb lane of Carlton Street between St. Mary Avenue and York Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. on Monday, July 20 to 5 p.m. on Friday, August 7. The three remaining lanes and bike lane on Carlton Street will remain open. Motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time or to use alternate routes in this area to reach their destinations.
The skywalk was closed to pedestrians earlier this year on April 9 and remains closed while repairs continue.
