Air Transat is warning travellers of a telephone scam currently making the rounds.
The automated calls play a promotional message stating a substantial discount is being offered on a future Air Transat flight. The customer is then asked to provide a credit card or other personal information. Other tactics may include advising a customer that they have won a trip, a vacation or other sort of prize from Air Transat.
The airline says they do not engage in promotional offers by telephone and the calls are fraudulent.
If you receive such a call, you’re asked to report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre online or by calling 1-888-495-8501.
