Winnipeg police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a sleeping woman in her apartment on Thursday.
The incident happened in the first hundred block of Canora Street at around 2:30 a.m., when police say a residential break-in occurred.
The female resident was sleeping at the time when a 29-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted her. He was chased out of the building by residents, who then contacted police.
During their search for the suspect, police responded to a call about a suspicious man entering a vehicle in the neighbouring area.
Robert Marcel Jack was arrested and has been charged with break and enter to commit sexual assault, break and enter theft, assault, and mischief under $5,000.
