The fifth season of Movies in the Park will roll on screen tonight at Assiniboine Park.

Hollywood blockbusters will run on a 27-foot wide screen at the Lyric Theatre all four Fridays in August.

The first flick on the schedule is “Big Hero 6” at 7 p.m., followed by “Theory of Everything” at 9:15 p.m.

“The crowd has continued to grow since we started this in 2011 and I’m sure 2015 will be no exception. With family favourites like Finding Nemo to blockbusters like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, there’s something for everyone at Movies in the Park,” said Trevor Clearwater, director of visitor experience at the Assiniboine Park Conservancy.

Other movies this month include:

  • August 14 — Finding Nemo (7 p.m.) and Tomorrowland (9:15 p.m.)
  • August 21 — Cinderella (7 p.m.) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (9:15 p.m.)
  • August 28 — Home (7 p.m.) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Party 1 (9:15 p.m.)
