A taxicab driver who offered a teen girl a free ride has been charged with sexual assault.
The 17-year-old victim was in the area of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and Pembina Highway at around 2:30 a.m. on July 9 when she got into the cab. Once in the front seat, Winnipeg police say the driver made inappropriate contact with the victim.
The teen exited the cab after a short drive and notified an adult.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday and faces sexual assault and sexual interference charges.
He was released on a promise to appear.
