Kick Butt Run

An upcoming fun run at Kildonan Park will benefit the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation on September 12.

The eighth annual Denny’s Kick Butt Walk or Run for Colorectal Cancer will see nearly all proceeds go to genetic testing at the foundation.

The 3k or 5k walk/run will include a new “Put Your Butt Cover on the Line” component, where participants are encouraged to bring a pair of underwear or purchase some onsite to decorate in support of a loved one/survivor with colorectal cancer.

“This helps promote awareness of the disease and decrease the stigma about cancers below the belt,” said co-chair Colin Chapnick.

Registration is free. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $15 and over.

This year’s event will be dedicated to the memory of 38 year-old Lara-Lea Avery, a long-time spokesperson who played a huge part to promote the run.
