Construction is already underway on a new training centre at the Winnipeg Humane Society.
The Joyce Gauthier Behaviour and Training Centre will open in the fall and comes after a generous donation by Jim Gauthier in memory of his wife.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift from Mr. Gauthier,” said Javier Schwersensky, WHS CEO. “This new space will allow us to make a greater impact in our community. We are always looking at ways of enriching the human-animal bond and this space will allow us to accomplish this.”
The centre will see an increase in programming at the shelter, with more training and agility courses available.
The expansion will be celebrated during a cheque presentation on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
