WINNIPEG — Construction will soon begin on a new daycare centre at 1710 Grosvenor Avenue.
The Rady Jewish Community Centre is spearheading construction to convert the space into a non-profit public daycare with 48 child spaces.
“We are thrilled and delighted. There is a demand in the area for close to 800 day care spaces, and we are taking steps to bridge that gap with this project,” said Gayle Waxman, Rady JCC’s executive director.
A fundraising campaign is underway for the project, which is the second such childcare facility Rady JCC will operate. The existing Kaufman Child Care Centre can handle more than 100 children, but a significant wait list remains.
Those wanting to join the wait list for either centre are asked to do so through the province’s child care registry.
