Scheduled power outages will affect communities along the east side of Lake Winnipeg this week.

Manitoba Hydro says outages are planned for Tuesday, August 25, Thursday, August 27, and next Tuesday, September 1.

Communities impacted will be Loon Straits, Bloodvein, Princess Harbour, Berens River, Poplar River, Little Grand Rapids, and Pauingassi.

Hydro says the outages are required to allow crews to safely relocate hydro poles near the new all-weather road being built along the east side of Lake Winnipeg. The work area is located north of Highway 304 and the community of Loon Straits.
