The Winnipeg Humane Society has joined forces with a popular group dedicated to returning lost cats to their rightful owners.

The partnership with Winnipeg Lost Cat Alert allows the WHS to leverage the power of the Facebook group in reuniting pets to their homes. WLCA receives more than 1,000 notifications annually for lost cats in the city.

“Although we can reunite many, many cats with their owner, I know we can — and must — do better. More successful reunions means we are all happy: cat, owner, WHS,” said Javier Schwersensky, WHS CEO.

The WHS receives more than 5,500 cats every year, with about 2,100 of them being strays.

Pet owners are encouraged to keep the records of their furry loved ones up to date, including current veterinarian, microchip information, and contact details current.

Should your cat go missing or if you find a cat, call the Winnipeg Humane Society at (204) 982-2025 to file a report. You can view lost and found cats on Winnipeg Lost Cat Alert’s Facebook Page or get your missing, or found, cat listed by writing an email to winnipeglostcatalert@gmail.com.
