A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the homicide of an inmate at Stony Mountain Institution on Monday.
RCMP were called to the medium security jail north of Winnipeg at around 7:30 p.m. where a 33-year-old man was found deceased in a room.
Charges against the suspect haven’t been laid, but are anticipated.
The victim, identified as Clayton Thomas Korski, had been serving a sentence for first-degree murder since July 5, 2007.
Police and Correctional Services Canada are continuing to investigate.
Stony Mountain Institution remains on lockdown and visits have been suspended until a search is completed.
